So...

about a month ago Chet and I sat down and decided to really take a look at our finances. It seemed that while we thought we were pretty good we were spending a lot of money that we didn't need to. Never any big purchases, just tons of little ones. We decided it was time to take control of our spending. One thing that we have done was to cut our grocery bill. I signed back up for the grocery game and am only buying stuff if it is what we will use. I have also committed to making all of our food. I have been making bread, crackers, granola bars, cookies and Chet has been making tortillas and noodles. It is amazing how much healthier we all feel and how much money we are saving. I think in the month of May we saved about $150 on our grocery bill. I started buying all of my baking supplies in bulk so that has helped as well. It really is neat to see how little we really have to buy each week. Usually we will buy some milk, eggs, cheese, meat and produce and that is it. My kids are also really enjoying getting to help in the kitchen as our Sundays have turned into "Baking Days" and at one point or another everyone of us in the kitchen helping out. It has been a great way to bring us all together at the beginning of a usually busy week. All in all we are loving our new healthy life style, with more money. Did I mention that our new diet is also helping us all lose weight:) What a great bonus:)

WOW!!! I am SO proud of all of you! What is the grocery game? I am interested, hopefully I will be inspired by you and start to be more of a chef....I just can't express how impressed and happy I am for you and new "lifestyle" :0)

It is a website that is a dollar a week and it tells you when is the best time to use your coupons to get the best deal. They do an 8 week trial for $1 and we love it. I buy tons of groceries for practically nothing:)

Totally inspiring! I love how the whole family is getting in on it. I wish your awesomeness would just rub off on me a little. Maybe it would if we ever hung out!!! You will have to squeeze us all in eventually :)
